Overview:

VIOTAS is currently looking for an Intermediate Software Product Owner / Product Analyst. We are looking for a curious, collaborative, passionate and pragmatic individual to work as part of our team. Working at the boundary between business needs and software engineering, the successful candidate will help define and drive the delivery of our innovative smart grid services platform. Our innovation team has developed a sophisticated tech stack which includes IoT hardware sensors, embedded and cloud-based software systems. These real-time systems combine to monitor the needs of the grid and can respond faster than the blink of an eye to grid events and imbalances.

Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking a product owner / product analyst to work closely with business stakeholders, UX designers, and agile development teams to shape, refine, and deliver high-quality software products and features. This role sits at the intersection of product ownership, analysis, and delivery, with responsibility for specific components and functional areas of our platform. Our ideal candidate would have energy industry experience, but this is not mandatory.

You will play a key role in translating business needs into clearly defined, deliverable requirements, supporting design and estimation activities, and ensuring teams have the clarity required to deliver value efficiently.

  • Work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to translate business requirements for energy systems into clear technical requirements and well-defined user stories
  • Collaborate with UX designers to produce high-level designs and prototypes that support requirement refinement, validation, and estimation
  • Actively participate in an agile development team, contributing to backlog refinement, sprint planning, and ongoing delivery activities
  • Take ownership of specific components and functional areas within the platform product, acting as a point of knowledge and continuity
  • Manage and maintain product requirements and user stories in Azure Devops
  • Support planning, prioritisation and refinement activities to ensure work is ready for development
  • Over time, build a strong understanding of the business domain, users, and application landscape
  • Ensure requirements are clearly communicated, understood, and aligned across all stakeholders

Essential Requirements:

  • 2-5 years professional experience in a similar role / environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly
  • Experience working in or alongside agile software development teams
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across product, design, and engineering disciplines
  • A proactive mindset and a willingness to take responsibility and learn quickly in a complex domain
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Candidate must have the necessary authorisation to work in the Republic of Ireland.

Desirable:

  • Experience in product/UX design, including in early-stage design, discovery or prototyping.
  • Hands-on experience using Figma or similar design tools.
  • Experience managing requirements, backlogs, or user stories in Azure Devops.
  • Any experience, understanding or special interest in energy systems and smartgrid technologies.

Job Type:
Full-Time, Permanent.

Location: Limerick, Ireland (Hybrid/Remote).
