Job Description

Job Title: Associate Scientist Intern in Genomics and Molecular Biology

What you will do

You will work with a team of scientists in the Molecular Biomarkers team in the Research Labs to develop genomics assays and analyse genomics data.

• Develop robust RNA/DNA extraction methods across a broad range of tissues for downstream assays
• Evaluate vendors for quality of RNA extraction and RNA-sequencing from broad range of tissues
• Develop highly multiplexed, high throughput quantitative PCR assays to support a broad range of scientific applications, including genotyping, transcript measurements, target validation, and cellular model characterization
• Contribute to the development of novel single-cell RNA-sequencing technologies
• Optional: analysis of next-generation sequencing data using R

What you should look like

• Experience with basic molecular biology techniques and best practices in the laboratory
• Motivated to learn and ask questions
• Ability to work well in a team
• Familiarity with the coding language R is highly recommended if you are interested to explore next-generation sequencing data analysis (optional responsibility)
