Job Summary
The Communications Intern will play a pivotal role in executing communication initiatives to support the organisations’ internal and external communications strategies. He/she is a dynamic and motivated individual who will be involved in content development, media monitoring, social media coordination and supporting corporate events.
He/she will work closely with the communications team to ensure consistency in messaging and branding while gaining practical experience in content creation thru the use of AI-Tech tools, social media management, internal and external communications, and event coordination. The intern will assist in drafting newsletters, press releases, and social media posts, as well as contribute to brand messaging and employee engagement efforts.
He/she is a strong writer with an eye for detail, a creative mindset, and a passion for storytelling. He/she is meticulous, able to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
He/She should possess strong communication skills which enables him/her to interact with groups of internal and external stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities/Key Tasks(External)
- Develop engaging content for internal and external channels, including social media posts, press releases etc.
- Ensure all content aligns with corporate messaging and brand guidelines.
- Capture high-quality photos and videos at events, campaigns, and corporate communications activities.
- Maintain a keen eye for detail to ensure visual content is professional and engaging.
- Edit and produce dynamic video content for digital platforms using tools such as CapCut
- Enhance videos with creative effects to bolster storytelling and audience engagement.
- Utilize AI applications and tools to create innovative content.
- Streamline workflows and enhance visual storytelling through digital innovation.
- Provide on-site coverage for major events, such as SAF Day, Sustainability Workshops, National Event Logistics.
- Document and report live events through multimedia channels.
- Assist in developing compelling media pitches.
- Support efforts to secure coverage across relevant media outlets.
- Aid in the scheduling and publishing of content on social media platforms.
- Monitor social media trends and engagement to optimize content performance.
- Assist with day-to-day administrative tasks, including documentation, meeting coordination, and other ad-hoc duties as needed.
- Ensure efficient and organized operations within the communications team.
- Undertake any assigned projects or duties directed by Management.
Job Requirements
- Proficiency in basic MS Office Applications / Microsoft Power Platform Applications and Adobe Creative Suite or other designing software.
- Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills with attention to detail
- Knowledge of graphic design and video editing tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Suite) is an advantage
- Experience in digital content creation, social media management and internal communications tools (e.g Sharepoint or Viva Engage)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Professional Qualifications & Relevant Experience
- 0-2 years of experience in communications related roles.
- Currently pursuing Degree in communications, journalism, public relations, business, marketing or related field.
