Intern - Flight Dynamics

We are looking for a highly motivated Intern in Flight Dynamics to join a team of flight dynamics and software professionals. This team manages the orbits of our advanced Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite constellation. You will work on tasks such as orbit transfer planning, constellation phasing, and formation flying. Your role will directly impact real operations of our fleet of satellites, and will contribute to operational efficiency and mission success.

The expected duration is 6-12 months.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the team to develop, simulate and test orbit control strategies, as well as automations, visualizations and monitoring tools.
• Oversee execution of orbit control strategies across ICEYE fleet.
• Write technical reports and documentation.
• Participate in design and code reviews.
• Partner with mission operations, payload teams, and ground systems engineers to align flight dynamics activities with mission requirements.

Qualifications:

Educational Background:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical field.
• Advanced degrees or specialized certifications in flight dynamics, satellite operations, or related disciplines are a plus.

Experience and skills:

• Projects or student club experience relating to orbital dynamics, orbit control or orbit determination.
• Understanding of orbital mechanics and basic understanding of low-thrust maneuvers.
• Ability to work with Python.
• Experience with satellite operations is a plus.
• Proficiency with git and CI/CD solutions is a plus.
