Our model for success is a better life for everyone and purposeful tasks for our employees. For more than 50 years, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), as a company of the German Federal Government, has been supporting the implementation of development policy goals worldwide. This entails support for the political leadership of the GS by the GS Board, the coordination of technical and implementation work via the GS Coordination Hub (GS-CH), and advisory services to GS partner countries via the GS Technical Advisory Group (TAG).
The Centre of Excellence on Gender-smart Solutions (CoE) is an initiative under the Global Shield that promotes and provides technical advisory support for integrating and scaling gender considerations into Climate and Disaster Risk Finance and Insurance (CDRFI) policies and programmes. The CoE aggregates case studies, policy documents and publications and commissions research to address gender gaps and generate evidence that supports designing gender-responsive and inclusive CDRFI solutions. Additionally, the CoE offers tailored support to governments, regulators, financial institutions, and development partners, helping them integrate gender-responsive approaches into their policies and programs.
