We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our Risk team as an intern. The role offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience as a software developer supporting and enhancing the existing market and credit risk software stack. The ideal candidate will have a passion for problem solving and possess strong programming skills in at least one high level programming language. As an intern, you'll gain hands-on experience working on real-world projects, collaborating with experienced professionals, and contributing to cutting-edge risk management solutions.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and maintenance of risk management systems and tools.
- Collaborate with risk analysts and other team members to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Develop and test software solutions using appropriate programming languages and tools.
- Analyse and troubleshoot system issues and implement solutions.
- Contribute to the automation of routine tasks and processes.
- Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing sessions.
- Undertake a project(s), guided by a senior developer, to gain practical experience and apply learned skills.
Qualifications:
- Candidates should have completed, or be currently enrolled in, a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Strong programming skills in at least one high-level language. Candidates with proficiency in C#, SQL Server, Python, and any Java Script framework will be highly regarded.
- Some knowledge of cloud-based technologies such as AZURE or AWS would be of interest.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Some knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools, such as SQL, Excel, and Python libraries like NumPy and Pandas will be highly regarded
Early Careers Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor’s or masters degree from an accredited university in a relevant program and graduating between December 2025 and August 2026 (entering penultimate year of university)
- Available for a June 2025 start date for a 10-week program
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (preferably Excel)
- Must be authorized to work in the UK for any employer
