Responsibilities:

Position Purpose

We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our Risk team as an intern. The role offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience as a software developer supporting and enhancing the existing market and credit risk software stack. The ideal candidate will have a passion for problem solving and possess strong programming skills in at least one high level programming language. As an intern, you'll gain hands-on experience working on real-world projects, collaborating with experienced professionals, and contributing to cutting-edge risk management solutions.

Job Responsibilities

Assist in the development and maintenance of risk management systems and tools.
Collaborate with risk analysts and other team members to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions.
Develop and test software solutions using appropriate programming languages and tools.
Analyse and troubleshoot system issues and implement solutions.
Contribute to the automation of routine tasks and processes.
Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing sessions.
Undertake a project(s), guided by a senior developer, to gain practical experience and apply learned skills.

Qualifications:

Candidates should have completed, or be currently enrolled in, a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field.
Strong programming skills in at least one high-level language. Candidates with proficiency in C#, SQL Server, Python, and any Java Script framework will be highly regarded.
Some knowledge of cloud-based technologies such as AZURE or AWS would be of interest.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Some knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools, such as SQL, Excel, and Python libraries like NumPy and Pandas will be highly regarded

Early Careers Requirements

Pursuing a bachelor’s or masters degree from an accredited university in a relevant program and graduating between December 2025 and August 2026 (entering penultimate year of university)
Available for a June 2025 start date for a 10-week program
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (preferably Excel)
Must be authorized to work in the UK for any employer

Working environment

Hybrid (3-4 days in-office)
