Overview
Reporting to the Senior Director, International Controller, the International Financial and Accounts Payable Staff Accountant will perform a variety of professional accounting duties with the principal areas being general accounting and the accounting for accounts payable. The roles and responsibilities will include treasury activities, general ledger accounting and close activities, and accounts payable activities including the timely payment and correct coding of invoices for Iovance’s growing international operations.
This role will be Hybrid. The ideal candidate is located in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Financial Accountant Responsibilities
- Perform day to day management of all transactions on bank accounts.
- Apply receipts in bank account to open sales invoices in Netsuite.
- Enter manual sales invoices in Netsuite.
- Prepare accounting entries in assigned areas and ensure accounting transactions are recorded in the financial system (Netsuite) and filing them appropriately.
- Responsible for the preparation of assigned monthly general ledger account reconciliations.
- Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley 404 effort by ensuring all key controls identified in the assigned areas are being performed timely and accurately.
- Assist with audit requests from internal and external auditors.
- Work closely with the Corporate accounting team on raising of intercompany invoices and settlement of inter-company balances.
- Assisting with ad-hoc projects, as required.
Accounts Payable Accountant Responsibilities
- Ensure invoices are approved in accordance with the Company’s authorization matrix.
- Ensure correct sorting, general ledger coding and matching of invoices/receipts, where applicable, along with timely processing of received invoices and posting of AP entries.
- Flags and clarify any unusual or questionable invoice items or prices.
- Ensures closing of AP in accordance with company process and policies on a monthly basis and assists in preparing monthly accrued expenses schedules.
- Manage purchase order system (ORO) by entering invoices and following up any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Supports monthly VAT filing process as needed.
- Assist with vendor purchase orders and weekly check runs and answers all vendor inquiries.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in finance/accounting required
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in accounts payable functions .
- Fluent in Dutch and English.
- Experience in public accounting and pharma industry strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, and Outlook) and ERP accounting software (NetSuite experience preferred).
- Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills, both oral and written.

Work Environment
This job works in a professional office environment and a manufacturing lab setting. Potential exposure to latex, bleach, loud noise, lab equipment hazards, strong odors, and chemical/biochemical is possible. Requires operating standard office equipment and keyboards.
