Overview
North York Academy High School is seeking a culturally fluent, relationship-oriented, and performance-driven International Recruitment and Marketing Specialist (Middle East Focus) to lead recruitment and marketing efforts targeting Korean students, parents, and educational agencies. This role is pivotal in enhancing the school’s presence in Korea, building strong partnerships, and increasing international student enrollment through strategic marketing, agency development, and culturally informed communication.
- Reports To: CEO/CMO/Manager of Marketing and Recruitment
- Location: North York Academy High School, Toronto, ON (Remote/Hybrid options may be considered for Turkey-based candidates)
- Employment Type: Part-Time - with potential transition to Full-Time Employment / Independent Contractor Agreement (Performance based for Turkey-based candidates)
Responsibilities:
Marketing & Branding (Middle East Market)
- Develop and execute customized marketing strategies tailored to Middle East audiences across digital, print, and in-person channels.
- Coordinate the creation and translation of promotional materials (brochures, presentations, website content, etc.) into Arabic and Persian.
- Oversee North York Academy’s Arabic and Persian-language digital presence, including localized social media platforms (e.g., WhatsApp, YouTube, Instagram, etc.).
- Implement campaigns to raise brand awareness among Middle East students, parents, and local education networks.
- Identify cultural trends and communication preferences in the Middle East market to optimize messaging and engagement.
Middle East Student Recruitment and Agency & Partnership Development
- Lead student recruitment efforts by building relationships with prospective Middle East students and families.
- Guide students and parents through the admissions process, including inquiries, applications, interviews, and enrollment confirmations.
- Host virtual and in-person info sessions in Arabic and Persian, including webinars, parent Q&A, and pre-departure orientations.
- Establish and maintain productive partnerships with Middle East education agencies, consultants, and high schools. Provide regular updates on program offerings and application procedures.
Community Engagement & Support
- Assist with translation and communication between school staff and Korean-speaking parents and students.
- Collaborate with the admissions and administrative team to provide student arrival support and post-arrival services.
- Monitor student satisfaction, academic progress, and engagement to support retention and parental trust.
Performance Metrics
- Number of Middle East student inquiries, applications, and confirmed enrollments per semester.
- Growth and quality of Middle East agency partnerships.
- Engagement levels on Middle East social media platforms and digital channels.
- Conversion rates from inquiry to enrollment for Middle East applicants.
- Parent and student satisfaction with the admissions and onboarding experience.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience working with Middle East agencies and high schools
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, International Relations, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in international student recruitment or education marketing, preferably with a focus on Middle East.
- Fluency in Arabic, Persian and English (spoken and written); strong cross-cultural communication skills.
- Familiarity with Middle East marketing platforms and communication tools.
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Compensation & Contract Details
- Part-time role with the potential to transition into full-time employment
- Independent contractor agreement with flexible work hours.
- Base compensation with performance-based higher incentives tied to confirmed enrollments.
