Position Overview:
The Inventory Assistant will be responsible for tracking, organizing, and maintaining the company’s inventory of IT equipment, software licenses, and office supplies. This position ensures that all resources are properly documented, distributed, and available for use by our teams. The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and eager to learn more about IT operations in a professional business environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and log incoming shipments of IT equipment, hardware components, and supplies.
- Maintain accurate records of company assets, including computers, accessories, and software licenses.
- Label and organize IT equipment for easy identification and retrieval.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the procurement team for restocking.
- Conduct periodic audits to ensure data accuracy in the inventory management system.
- Track equipment usage and assist in assigning devices to staff or departments.
- Prepare and process outgoing shipments, returns, or warranty claims as needed.
- Generate inventory and usage reports for management review.
- Maintain clean and organized storage areas to ensure safety and accessibility.
- Assist IT and operations teams with special projects related to logistics and equipment management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or IT is a plus.
- Previous experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or administrative roles preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, or inventory tracking software.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Basic understanding of IT hardware (computers, peripherals, accessories) preferred.
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 30 lbs.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with asset management systems such as Odoo, Asset Panda, or Jira Assets.
- Basic understanding of procurement processes.
- Interest in technology and a desire to grow within an IT-focused company.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.50 - $26.00 per hour
