Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory Control & Finance Specialist to oversee inventory, financial, analytical and reporting processes. This role will coordinate with Finance, Supply Chain, R&D and Operations teams, ensuring accurate financial Inventory and costs of sales records, while supporting cost control efforts, and ensuring reporting will support data-driven decision-making. Reporting the Chief Finanical Officer.
Key Responsibilities
Finance & Reporting
- Ensure financial accuracy of, reported inventory valuations (including proposal of Inventory provisions), cost of goods sold (COGS), and Inventory procurement activity
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Prepare financial reports related to inventory holdings, production and warehouse control activity for Management and Board use
- Support month-end and year-end financial accounting and audit requirements
- Recommend and implement Inventory tracking and system processing improvements
Inventory Control
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards
- Review and confirm Inventory adjustment transactions
- Analyze inventory trends, turnover rates, and obsolescence
- Support regular cycle count completion and reconcile/analyse discrepancies
- Implement and improve inventory tracking systems and procedures including development and analysis of bill of materials
- Coordinate with Sales, Procurement and Distribution teams to optimize stock levels
Data Analysis & Process Improvement
- Develop reports and dashboards to support management decision making (Power BI, Excel, SAP Query)
- Analyze operational and financial data to identify inefficiencies
- Recommend cost-saving initiatives and process enhancements
Qualifications
- Finance/Accounting education combined with a recognised accounting designation
- 2–5 years of experience in inventory control, accounting, or similar role
- Strong understanding of inventory systems and manufacturing accounting principles
- Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (e.g., SAP or similar)
Preferred Skills
- Experience with data visualization/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, SAP Query, Excel)
- Ability to proactively problem solve and promote recommendations for process and system improvements
- Knowledge of internal control procedures and documentation
- Experience with Audit processes
- Effective writing, strong communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
- High attention to detail, strong analytical skills and a strong sense of urgency
Work Environment
- Working in an office, warehouse and production facility environment
- Ability to lift up to 25 kgs during on-site inventory checks
- Fast paced ensuring a sense of urgency when addressing production facility needs
Compensation
- $80,000 - $100,000.00 per year based on experience
