Investment Analyst – Venture Capital

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Investment Analyst to join our team in Singapore. This role is suited for an enthusiastic self-starter who works on their own initiative with little or no supervision. Confident and optimist, high-energy, no-inhibition, humble, willing learner, people person, flexible and nimble, not afraid to try for the fear of failure, keen to be part of a change for good.

The ideal candidate should have a strong analytical mindset, an interest in technology-driven innovation, and a structured approach to evaluating investment opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

Deal Screening & Due Diligence

• Identify and evaluate investment opportunities through calls and meetings with prospects.
• Conduct in-depth due diligence, including financial modeling, market analysis, and competitive benchmarking.
• Assess product-market fit, minimum viable products, and emerging technologies.
• Perform background checks on company leadership and evaluate intellectual property (IP) and competitive moats.

Market Research & Analysis

• Stay up to date with macroeconomic trends and emerging technologies in the startup ecosystem.
• Analyze market demand, consumer trends, and competitive landscapes.
• Track developments in venture capital and private equity, including investment strategies of relevant funds.
• Compile industry insights into research reports and data-driven presentations.

Investment Documentation & Reporting

• Summarize call notes, document deal details, and prepare internal investment memos.
• Maintain a structured repository of investment opportunities.
• Support audit and compliance teams with portfolio-related obligations.
• Develop business intelligence frameworks and data models to track fund performance.

Portfolio Management

• Monitor portfolio companies' progress and key financial metrics.
• Provide insights and recommendations based on performance tracking.

Business Intelligence & GTM Strategies

• Develop go-to-market strategies to enhance the firm’s visibility among investors and startups.
• Maintain and analyze market research databases.
• Contribute to social media content and digital engagement efforts.

Requirements

• Education: A degree in any one or more of the following: Law, Engineering, Physics, Finance, Business, Economics, Liberal Arts or History (including financial history) is preferred.
• Skills & Experience:
• Experience in venture capital, investment banking, consulting, or financial modeling is beneficial.
• Strong understanding of financial analysis, valuation techniques, and cash flow modeling.
• Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (advanced functions) and PowerPoint/Slides for professional presentations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
