IoT Support & Integration Engineer (m/w/d)

Vienna, full-time, start immediately

ToolSense - The AI- and IoT-driven FM Operations Platform. Cut Costs. Reduce Downtime.

What we do at ToolSense

ToolSense is building the leading AI- and IoT-driven FM Operations Platform for Facility Management. Our mission: become the global leader in FM Operations, a massive industry that is critical to how our world works and where many processes are still handled with Excel, pen & paper, and WhatsApp.

This leads to downtime, chaos, and high costs.

We're changing that.

ToolSense digitizes the entire FM Operations: from machines and robots to vehicles, buildings, and work orders. We connect assets via QR codes and IoT, automate workflows with AI, and create real-time transparency across the entire fleet. The result: up to 80% less downtime, 20% lower machine costs, and a far easier day-to-day for the people working on the ground.

With over 200 customers in 30+ countries, including ISS, Dussmann, VINCI, and WISAG, multiple innovation awards, and growth funding from GRO Capital, a leading European B2B SaaS investor, we're ready to scale across Europe and beyond.

Our Goal

We want to become the leading FM Operations Platform and drive the digitization of this industry. To get there, we need a strong product team that turns customer problems into clear business priorities and makes ToolSense better every day.

Your Role

As an IoT Support & Integration Engineer, you’ll ensure our IoT integrations run reliably from edge devices on machines through to data in the backend.

You’ll troubleshoot complex integration issues across hardware, communication layers, and data pipelines, test new IoT devices, and handle escalated IoT support cases.

You’ll also support internal teams such as Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering with technical IoT expertise, and own our IoT support documentation by keeping articles accurate, useful, and up to date.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on technical problem-solving, works independently, and can make complex IoT topics clear and actionable.

Among other things, you’ll take ownership of:

IoT Integration

  • Manage and maintain IoT integrations along the full chain: from edge devices on machines to data in the backend
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues across hardware, communication layers, and data pipelines
  • Test new IoT devices

3rd Level Technical Support

  • Handle escalated IoT support cases that go beyond first and second line support
  • Provide technical guidance and answers to internal colleagues — including Sales and Customer Success — when IoT-related questions arise

Documentation Ownership

  • Act as owner of the IoT support documentation
  • Continuously maintain existing support articles and create new ones to reflect changes in product, integrations, and known issues.

Who you are

We're looking for people with energy, curiosity, passion, and a hands-on mentality.

What You Bring:

Core Requirements:

  • Scripting — Python or Bash; ability to write and read scripts for automation, diagnostics, and data handling
  • Databases — general familiarity with how databases are structured and operated

Nice-to-Have-Skills:

  • Basic electronics knowledge — understanding of hardware components and simple circuits relevant to IoT edge devices
  • SQL & REST APIs — solid basic understanding of querying databases and interacting with REST APIs
  • Telecommunications fundamentals— awareness of communication protocols and network concepts relevant to IoT connectivity (e.g. MQTT, cellular, industrial protocols)

What we offer

  • A role with direct impact on the product used daily by hundreds of customers in 30+ countries
  • Close collaboration with Engineering, Design, Customer Success, and Sales
  • A modern, international team with flat hierarchies
  • Competitive salary above the Austrian IT collective agreement (depending on experience)
  • Modern office in Vienna near Mariahilferstraße, subsidized lunch, snacks, top coffee, and high-quality equipment
  • Deep onboarding in product, AI, IoT, and FM industry knowledge
  • Regular feedback, professional development, and real ownership
  • The chance to be part of a venture-backed scale-up (funded by GRO Capital) on its way to becoming the European market leader

  • Equal Opportunity

We care about motivation, energy, and results, not labels. No matter where you come from or how you tick: if you have drive and want a role between tech, product, and customers, you're in the right place.
