Iowa Wild Marketing Intern

Our Marketing Intern will work with our Digital Media Manager and Marketing Coordinator to provide support for our social media, email marketing and advertising placement efforts. The Intern, Marketing will assist in creating content for the team’s social media channels, engaging with fans, implementing social media trends, helping craft marketing emails, assisting with advertisement placing, and attending team events and home games to support coverage. This role requires working events, nights and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions

• Attend (as needed):
  • Community events
  • Player appearances
  • Brand activation initiatives (pregame parties, etc.)
  • Home games
• Create, edit, schedule, and post content to the following Iowa Wild channels:
  • X
  • TikTok
  • Facebook
  • LinkedIn
  • Instagram
  • YouTube
• Assist with:
  • Marketing communications efforts, including emails and text messages.
  • Ensure the Iowa Wild website is regularly updated.
  • Brainstorm target audiences that will grow Iowa Wild reach.
  • Advertising and scheduling of ad placements.

Position Requirements

Formal Education & Certification

• Current student majoring in marketing, communications, film/digital cinematography, creative writing or other related field, or recent college graduate with degree in one of these fields.

Knowledge & Experience

• Knowledge and experience with the following social platforms: TikTok, X, Facebook, and Instagram.
• Experience capturing engaging content with camera and iPhone.
• Experience editing photo/video content, Premier Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom software preferred, not required.
• Experience utilizing social media scheduling services, Agorapulse, Sprout Social or Hootsuite preferred, not required.
• Experience working in Project Management system is a plus, Lytho preferred, not required.
• Knowledge and experience of Eloqua for email marketing (or a similar email marketing platform) is preferred, not required.
• Knowledge and experience with Showtime or similar website building platforms is preferred, not required.
• Knowledge of the sport of hockey strongly preferred.

Work Conditions

• Must be able to work flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays for games and events.
• Physical requirements include sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, knelling, twisting, lifting, grasping.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Position may require extended periods of time sitting or standing.
