About eWed Insurance
eWed Insurance is a modern U.S. InsurTech company specializing in wedding and event insurance. We combine smart technology with white-glove service to simplify how couples, venues, and event professionals protect their celebrations.
Our company is built on innovation, customer service, and integrity — and we’re coming to India. This position is a rare opportunity to help shape a growing organization from the inside out, building systems, relationships, and processes from the ground up.
About the Role
We are seeking a qualified insurance professional to serve as our IRDAI Compliance Officer for our India operations. This is an ongoing, project-based opportunity that can be done alongside your primary employment.
This person will also be designated as the Principal Officer for the company. This is a statutory designation role required under the IRDAI Corporate Agents Regulations. The primary responsibilities include serving as the named Principal Officer, signing regulatory documents, and acting as the official point of contact with IRDAI. This is not a day-to-day operational compliance role.
As the Compliance Officer, the candidate will oversee compliance with IRDAI Regulations, act as the main point of contact for the IRDAI and other government departments, prepare and file regulatory returns & reports, and work with eWed’s staff to ensure compliance with all governmental regulations. This person will also help bridge collaboration between our U.S. and India teams, ensuring consistency with eWed’s brand and business goals.
This candidate will work directly with company leadership, managing compliance operations, be the principal liaison between eWed India and the IRDAI, and oversee administrative systems & procedures.
Core Responsibilities
1. Regulatory & Compliance Oversight
a. Act as the authorized point of contact for IRDAI in all matters concerning the corporate agency operations.
b. Ensure that all regulatory returns, reports, and disclosures are submitted accurately and on time.
c. Supervise compliance and adherence with the relevant IRDAI regulations and subsequent circulars, notifications, and guidelines.
d. Maintain and supervise statutory records and registers as required.
Only When Requested Responsibilities
2. Business Support & Leadership Collaboration
a. Assist with special projects related to international expansion and new business initiatives.
b. Support financial systems and reporting.
c. Contribute to organizing company data, files, and process documentation.
d. Collaborate with U.S. operations to ensure claims and service workflows remain aligned.
e. Work closely with senior leadership to align daily operations with long-term company goals.
f. Participate in internal meetings, share insights, and contribute to decision-making around systems and partnerships.
g. Ensure compliance with all applicable Indian insurance regulations and licensing requirements.
h. Contribute to the development of workflows, customer experience standards, and training processes.
i. Assist in onboarding and training new team members as the company continues to expand.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a recognized university (in any discipline).
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in the insurance, finance, or InsurTech industry.
- Prior experience as a Principal Officer will be given preference.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (and Hindi preferred not required).
- Does not violate the requirements (Fit and Proper Criteria) under the IRDAI Corporate Agents Regulations.
- Shall be exclusively engaged with the Company and shall not hold similar roles in any other corporate agent or intermediary.
Please note that to be officially hired the applicant will be required to pass 1) the IRDAI IC-38 exam, 2) the IRDAI Principal Officer examination, and 3) obtain a Principal Officer Training Completion certificate from an IRDAI approved institution. eWed Insurance will cover the cost of the preparatory courses and examination fees.
Preferred Attributes
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Professional yet warm communication style.
- Collaborative, team-minded, and self-motivated.
- Interested in combining traditional service values with modern InsurTech innovation.
- Excited by the opportunity to help grow a U.S.-based company internationally.
Why Join eWed
- You’ll work directly with leadership — not layers of management.
- You’ll help build real systems and relationships that define the company’s next chapter.
- You’ll gain experience across departments: operations, client service, partnerships, and claims.
- You’ll join a team that values creativity, clarity, and kindness as much as results.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From ₹1.00 per year
Expected hours: 1 – 10 per week
Benefits:
- Work from home
Application Question(s):
- Have you successfully passed your IC-38 exam? Are you familiar with IRDAI’s Principal Officer examination requirements?
- Are you willing to take the required insurance course(s) and exam(s)?
- How much time can you commit per week to obtaining the necessary license and certifications require for this job?
