Position Overview
We’re hiring experienced Ironworkers with a strong background in Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings (PEMB) — specifically those who can handle primary and secondary steel erection from start to finish.
This is not an entry-level role. We’re looking for guys who understand how PEMB systems go together structurally, not just how to bolt parts.
If you can read prints, set steel correctly, and keep a crew moving — you’ll do well here.
Scope of Work
- Erect primary steel (columns, rafters, rigid frames)
- Install secondary steel (purlins, girts, bracing systems)
- Interpret PEMB erection drawings and sequencing
- Understand structural alignment, plumbing, and squaring of frames
- Coordinate picks and placement with equipment/operators
- Install bracing systems and ensure structural integrity during erection
- Work safely and efficiently at heights
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of PEMB ironwork experience REQUIRED
- Must understand full erection process of PEMB systems (not just pieces)
- Strong ability to read and interpret erection drawings
- Experience with layout, sequencing, and structural alignment
- Comfortable working at heights (30–100 ft depending on project)
- Ability to work without constant supervision
- Brings basic tools required for ironwork
What We Provide
- Company-paid housing while traveling
- Travel between job sites covered
- PPE provided (fall protection, harnesses, etc.)
- Long-term, steady work — not project hopping
- Consistent overtime (50–70 hrs/week)
Requirements
- Valid government-issued ID
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must pass drug/alcohol screening
- May be subject to background check
- Reliable transportation to/from job sites
Physical Demands
- Lift 50+ lbs regularly
- Climb, balance, and work at height daily
- Work long shifts (10–12+ hours) in outdoor conditions
Why This Role Is Different
Let’s be real — most listings say “ironworker” and mean bolt-up labor.
This role is for guys who:
- Understand how a building stands up — not just how to tighten bolts
- Can keep production moving without waiting on instructions
- Know PEMB systems specifically (not just red iron or misc steel)
If that’s you — you’ll have steady work, strong hours, and a crew that actually knows what they’re doing.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $31.00 per hour
