Key Accountabilities

  • ·Serve as an ambassador of the property, acting as a liaison between guests, management, sales consultants, and team members.
  • Lead by example, proactively providing smooth, unfettered service and finding creative solutions to any challenges that may arise.
  • Coordinate with external vendors, such as florists, photographers, and entertainment providers, to ensure seamless integration into the event.
  • Manage guest seating arrangements and handle any last-minute changes or special requests.
  • Oversee the setup and breakdown of Isabelle PDR, ensuring all elements are in place and meet the client's expectations.
  • Monitor the event timeline closely, adjusting as needed to keep everything running smoothly.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior team members, helping them develop their skills and understanding of high service standards.
  • Handle any guest complaints or issues promptly and professionally, ensuring a positive resolution.
  • Maintain detailed records of each event, including guest feedback and any areas for improvement, to enhance future events.
  • Ensure compliance with all local regulations and licensing requirements, particularly regarding alcohol service and health and safety standards.
  • Prepare by reviewing upcoming contracts and ensuring all details are communicated to staff.
  • Arrive to work promptly, well-presented in perfect dress code with all tools for the job; ensure event staff adhere to the company uniform standards.
  • Review room setup with the Manager on Duty to ensure it is set up according to BEO and client instructions.
  • Oversee staff arrival timing, making any necessary adjustments.
  • Create, manage, and communicate to team members a plan of execution for the event, allocating duties.
  • Effectively lead the service team to ensure flawless execution of the event in accordance with Pearle’s high service standards.
  • Ensure event timing is kept on track, investigating and addressing any reasons for deviation from the schedule.
  • Conduct a culinary briefing, maintain ongoing communication with chefs regarding timings, create order summaries, highlight any special requests or allergies, and oversee the execution of food service.
  • Supervise the bar setup and service, confirming specialty cocktails are prepared, wine service is seamless, and Smart Serve principles are being followed, stepping in to assist if issues arise.
  • Conduct regular quality checks with hosts.
  • Take ownership of property cleanliness and be accountable for the team following Pearle’s Health & Safety Policies.
  • Ensure effective and timely shutdown of the event.
  • Provide management with a detailed event summary at the conclusion of all events.
  • Provide impeccable service and act as host to guests, answering questions and providing accurate information in a timely manner.
  • Maintain positive relationships within the team unit as well as with those outside of it, working together with others toward the common goal of success across the property.
  • Willingly accept additional tasks as required for the effective functioning of the work unit and graciously assist others in completing their tasks.
  • Communicate Pearle’s core values by demonstrating genuine and thoughtful hospitality in day-to-day duties and motivating the same goal in the team.
  • Continually seek ways to provide outstanding service, demonstrating for others how to exceed guests’ expectations.

What we would like you to bring to the position:

  • WHIMIS Certificate (training provided)
  • First Aid & CPR certification required (training provided if not currently certified)
  • Smart Serve Certification
  • 2+ years of upscale events experience
  • Event or hospitality experience considered an asset
  • Leadership: Effectively guiding and motivating the event team to ensure flawless execution.
  • Communication Skills: Clearly and effectively interacting with guests, vendors, and team members.
  • Problem-Solving: Quickly addressing any issues or challenges that arise during the event.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring every aspect of the event setup and service is perfect.
  • Time Management: Efficiently managing tasks and coordinating event timings to keep everything running smoothly.
  • Guest Service: Providing exceptional service to create a memorable experience for guests.
