About the Role

We are currently seeking an IT Business Consultant with a strong consulting background to join the team on an initial 12 month fixed term basis and if successful, will lead to a permanent role. Based in the Auckland, New Zealand office this role reports to the Head of IT Demand and Planning in Sydney.

This role will become the primary IT engagement lead for Goodman Fielder New Zealand working closely with the executive teams from various business teams to provide IT guidance and become the trusted advisor who understands current and future business needs.

This role will also lead a team of IT business analysts charged with gaining a deeper understanding of requirements to allow us to identify potential solutions for IT initiatives. The team supports the IT initiatives from analysis through to project delivery by the IT Portfolio Management team.

The primary responsibilities of the role will be:

• Consulting Services - Provide IT consulting services to our businesses to support and guide them to achieve their strategic goals while acting as the senior IT liaison into and escalation point for senior business leaders.
• Engagement & Relationship Management - Develop trusted and effective relationships with business teams to understand the current and future needs that underpin the IT solutions
• Gain a deep understanding of business systems and processes which will allow you to proactively interact with and advise business leaders to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
• The development, maintenance and analysis of current business process and input to system mapping documentation for your assigned business portfolio.
• Develop and maintain the business demand views and initiatives into the strategic IT plan while following the PMO process for prioritization and ensuring alignment to the business strategies
• Work closely and collaborate with IT teams to identify potential solutions and paths to satisfying business needs
• Collaborate and actively participate in the IT leadership group to help drive a positive IT culture and a focus on high performance and goal-driven outcomes

What you need:

• Undergraduate Degree or equivalent experience, ideally technology-based and 10+ years of experience working in IT teams
• Continuous relevant training and development to support an IT career
• A true desire to collaborate with business and IT teams to achieve our goals
• Possess strong interpersonal and influencing skills, including establishing and sustaining strong and trusting client relationships including exposure to director levels
• The ability to align with a strong organizational and team culture
• Strong mentoring and team leadership skills
• Broad understanding of food manufacturing, warehousing, sales systems, supply chain and distribution experience would be advantageous
• Broad knowledge of current technology solutions and best practice to ensure solutions are fit for purpose. Preferably experience with applications development
