Description
We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled IT Engineer to join our team and support the delivery of secure, resilient, and efficient IT services for our customer. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in IT operations and a keen interest in endpoint security, particularly Microsoft Defender. While networking experience is beneficial, it is not essential. The successful candidate will contribute to the ongoing improvement of our systems and play a key role in maintaining business-critical platforms.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver back-end support for enterprise platforms including Microsoft Intune for endpoint management, OKTA for identity and access control, Active Directory (AD) for user authentication, Entra ID and Entra Connect for hybrid identity solutions, and Microsoft 365 (M365) for productivity and collaboration.
Configure and manage Microsoft Defender to best practice standards, enhancing threat protection and response capabilities across the organisation.
Implement and monitor backup solutions to ensure data integrity and availability.
Develop and test disaster recovery procedures to minimise downtime and ensure business continuity.
Oversee patch management processes to maintain system performance and security.
Lead security remediation efforts by identifying vulnerabilities and applying corrective actions in line with compliance requirements.
Administer firewall configurations to ensure secure and efficient control of network traffic and protection against external threats.
Provide hands-on support to end users, resolving hardware, software, and access-related issues in a timely and professional manner.
Act as a point of escalation for complex technical problems, ensuring prompt resolution and minimal disruption to business operations.
Maintain accurate records of support requests and resolutions, contributing to knowledge base documentation and service improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with service desk and technical teams to ensure seamless support coverage and consistent user experience.

Key Requirements
Proven experience in infrastructure engineering or a related IT support role.
Strong understanding of enterprise IT environments and core infrastructure components.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender is highly desirable.
Relevant certifications in Microsoft technologies or cybersecurity are a plus
