Job Purpose/Role:
The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for providing technical assistants to medium-sized office. This role requires good social and communication skills to work one on one with all levels of staff. Specialist is required to have diverse knowledge of technically used by the office. To provide support and assistance individual needs to have knowledge of client-server network environment, M365, ability to understand and work in web-based content management system, relational database querying, member management systems navigation, knowledge of html, and an understanding of css for styling websites.
Role requires troubleshooting skills and a willingness to adapt and learn new applications and equipment as office technology usage evolves. The Individual must have the ability to multi-task and take ownership of task seeing to the end that it is complete.
The Specialist will serve as a liaison to the company’s Managed Service Provider to help support the office client-server environment. To effectively fill this role individual must have experience working with virtual environment, managed with Hyper-V consisting of Windows 2019 sever.
Specialist will work with onsite in the IT department with the IT Manger.
Qualifications/Individual needs to be capable of handling the following tasks:
- Serve as first point of contact for staff when they require technical assistance with computers and smart phones. Troubleshoot issue, collect details, research problem, work with staff member at their level of assistance comfort to resolve issue.
- Communicate with staff by phone, email, remote and in-person to provide support.
- Prepare devices for staff use as equipment is replaced. OS setup, join to domain.
- Add, remove, update roster within Active Directory.
- Support network authentication, DUO, VPN access.
- Monitor Mimecast Spam filter, daily.
- Become experienced with Mimecast modules used by office to help provide cyber-security support when dealing with URLs and attachments.
- Support M365 Tenant, MFA, Email access on mobile, OneDrive
- Understanding of ShareFile and OneDrive.
- Support remote desktop access to SAGE Accounting.
- Monitor patch and security update compliance.
- Provide staff technical assistance with in-office local printers and snap scan scanners.
- Inventory management of deployed office equipment.
- Support use of Audio-Visual equipment: Owl, projection equipment
- Maintain network documentation.
- Assist staff with camera or sound issues when they are using Zoom and MS Teams.
- Monitor Network performance health.
- Support connection issue to wireless access points.
- Willingness to pitch in with member database updates.
- Annual password reset
- Serve as a liaison when needed with 3rd party vendors for off site back up management, disaster and recovery, and cyber security managed service provider.
Experience
- 2-years providing technical support, onsite, in a client-server based environment.
- 5-years of Windows based operating system experience and associated hardware and software - MS Office 365 suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, MS Teams).
- Knowledge of Mimecast or similar application that is used for SPAM filtering, URL protection, attachment review.
- Knowledge of report writing using SQL Server Data Tools report writing and T-SQL.
- Knowledge of IIS, SSL certs.
- Knowledge of html and use of css for styling websites.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
