Status: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday – 40 Hours per Week

Commercial Building Janitorial / Cleaner

Canadian Security Protective Consulting (CANSPC) is seeking a dependable, professional, and detail-oriented Commercial Janitorial / Cleaner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and professional appearance of a secure commercial office building.

This position plays an important role in providing a clean, healthy, and welcoming environment for employees, clients, contractors, and visitors. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, demonstrates strong time-management skills, and is capable of working independently while maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.

Please Note: This is a secure government/commercial facility. Candidates must have or be eligible to obtain and maintain an Enhanced Security Clearance.

Duties and Responsibilities

Cleaning responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Daily cleaning of office spaces, workstations, meeting rooms, boardrooms, reception areas, and common areas.
• Vacuuming carpets and entrance mats throughout the building.
• Sweeping, mopping, and maintaining hard surface flooring.
• Dusting desks, ledges, furniture, windowsills, and other horizontal surfaces.
• Cleaning and disinfecting washrooms, including toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors, partitions, countertops, and fixtures.
• Restocking washroom supplies, including soap, toilet paper, paper towels, and other consumables.
• Cleaning and sanitizing kitchenettes, lunchrooms, cafeterias, coffee stations, and staff break areas.
• Cleaning countertops, tables, sinks, appliances, microwaves, refrigerators (exterior), cupboards, and other kitchen surfaces.
• Emptying garbage, recycling, and organic waste receptacles, and ensuring proper waste disposal procedures are followed.
• Cleaning interior glass, entrance doors, partitions, and other high-touch surfaces.
• Maintaining the cleanliness of entrances, lobbies, corridors, elevators, and stairwells.
• Reporting maintenance deficiencies, safety hazards, damaged equipment, or security concerns to management.
• Operating commercial cleaning equipment, including upright and backpack vacuums, floor scrubbers, and other cleaning equipment as required.
• Maintaining cleaning supplies and equipment in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
• Following all workplace health and safety policies, WHMIS requirements, and manufacturer guidelines for cleaning products.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in commercial janitorial or office cleaning is considered a strong asset.
• Must have an Enhanced Security Clearance.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleaning standards.
• Ability to prioritize work and complete assigned tasks within scheduled timeframes.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing repetitive duties including bending, walking, standing, climbing stairs, and operating cleaning equipment.
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable with excellent attendance.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of commercial cleaning practices, WHMIS, and safe operation of cleaning equipment is considered an asset.
