Job Description

The Java Application Architect will play a critical role in modernizing and managing enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in application architecture, deployment on ECS, troubleshooting, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform. The role requires strong consulting skills, ownership, and the ability to work across global time zones to support stakeholders effectively.

Development experience in Java applications using Spring Boot, Quarkus, and other relevant frameworks and implementation experience in RESTful APIs
Design, develop, and manage microservices-based architecture and integrate services with AWS cloud-native tools to ensure high scalability, performance, and security
Proficiency and hands-on experience with GitHub Enterprise.
Solid Core Application Architecture experience, including expertise in deploying applications on Amazon ECS (Elastic Container Service).
Strong troubleshooting skills to collaborate and resolve issues with application teams.
Working knowledge of Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and automation
Experience with application discovery, including identifying functional dependencies.
General understanding of CI/CD pipelines (deployment processes will use Harness).
Previous experience with Terraform Enterprise.
Knowledge or hands-on experience with BI/Dashboard tools for monitoring and reporting.

Requirements

Lead the architecture, deployment, and troubleshooting of Java applications on ECS.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand application dependencies and ensure smooth deployments.
Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
Work closely with app teams and provide consultation on best practices for deployments and operational stability.
Manage change requests and act as a liaison between technical teams and stakeholders.
Ability to create, manage, and escalate change requests as needed.
Demonstrates strong ownership, delivering results independently with minimal oversight.
Skilled in building and nurturing relationships with application owners and key stakeholders.
Proactively escalate blockers with clear recommendations to resolve and ensure project timelines are met
