Summary

HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a Senior Intelligence Planner (Korean National Policy Interpreter/Translator) to support the United States Forces Korea (USFK), Assistant Chief of Staff, J2 (ACofS, J2) JIOC-K in their mission to provide timely intelligence to Commander, USFK and Combined Forces Command, the combined battle staff, and war fighter component commanders!


The JIOC-K's efforts focus on detecting enemy threats, managing intelligence, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) activities, analyzing enemy actions and information to determine enemy's probable courses of action.


The overall analytic effort strengthens Defense Intelligence and provides relevant, timely, objective, and cogent all source Defense Intelligence to the Commander and other users, and transforming theater intelligence activities to better leverage the capabilities of the theater and global intelligence communities and safeguard United States personnel and interests within the Korea Theater of Operations (KTO). What you will do

  • Serves as the Senior Intelligence Policy Liaison and direct coordination with ROK (LNO) for COT-P
  • Serves as primary link to Republic of Korea OPCON Transfer Intelligence team and Military Intelligence Management System-Combined development team
  • Plans and coordinates the evaluation of Conditions-based OPCON Transition Plan (COT-P) between the United States and Republic of Korea to ensure Alliance capabilities and regional conditions are conducive to OPCON transition within CFC
  • Coordinates official and non-official memorandums, agreements, and briefing content concerning transformation and C4I interoperability between JIOC-K and Republic of Korea agencies
  • Ensures proper translation and interpretation during meetings, briefings, and exercises
  • Attends senior level meetings and briefings to facilitate intelligence synchronization between U.S. and Republic of Korea intelligence communities
  • Acts as primary advisor concerning Republic of Korea intent and ability to achieve transformational and interoperability objectives
  • Establishes and develops Republic of Korea points of contact to further information sharing
  • Facilitates Republic of Korea compliance with deadlines through coordination with the ROK officers
  • Coordinates with Republic of Korea JCS and CFC staff intelligence elements on all real-time intelligence issues
  • Serves as SME on Republic of Korea Intelligence Community organization and on KTO’s combined intelligence networks, organizations, assets, and collection capabilities
  • Advises the JIOC-K production managers on best use and ingestion of Korean information into US systems
  • Provides interpreter assistance/support to J2, DJ2 and senior leaders, as required
  • Relays information between ROK government official and USFK official, as required
  • Additional duties as assigned or required

What we are looking for

  • 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience
  • Able to surge support during 2 exercises per year
  • Clearance: Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI clearance, with the continued ability to obtain a Poly

Bonus points for...

  • Masters with 12 years of experience preferred, or Bachelors with 17 years of experience
  • Recent applicable experience within the last 2 years also preferred
  • Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT) test score 4/4 (reading/writing) or equivalent in Korean and English
  • Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) Level 4 (speaking) or equivalent in Korean and English
  • Must be able to interpret ideas and thoughts between conversations
  • Intelligence experience and/or operation support within Korea or other active theaters
  • Experience with Joint Planning processes
  • Experience with the bi-lateral (ROK-US) Korean environment
  • Familiar with the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA)
