Production Technician I - Plastisol

Job Summary:

The Production Technician I is responsible for performing all tasks involved in the production of Lakeside Plastics products. The Production Technician I will ensure that the products meet quality control standards. This is a fast paced and physical position which requires the ability to multi-task. Efficiency and attention to detail are essential for this role. The Production Technician I will follow standard work procedures and practices; as well as participate in safe work habits to ensure an efficient and safe working environment.

Responsibilities/Tasks:

· Mix plastisol batches in large mixers (#1,3,4,5,8,9,10 & 11). This involves repeated heavy lifting (up to 60lbs) for a period of time followed by less strenuous tasks

· Gather/prepare shipping containers and clean mixers/totes using proper procedures

· Add various chemicals to mix and run quality tests.

· Empty mixer, put mix into containers and place finished product on designated pallets with the appropriate count

· Weigh pigment and finished product to ensure they meet specifications

· Perform quality control on finished batch to ensure viscosity, weight/gallon and moisture test are correct and get approval from lead to proceed

· Operate forklift to move product (Lakeside certified)

· Produce approximately 2 batches of plastisol per day (200 bags)

· Follow direction of leads and division supervisor and perform work as assigned

· Notify lead of any mechanical or material issues

· Maintain a clean and safe working environment

Requirements:

  • Able to lift up to 60 pounds
  • Have the ability to squat, bend, twist, work in high places, climb stairs multiple times per shift
  • Must be able to work in a warehouse type environment with frequent dust and loud noises
  • Excellent attendance is necessary
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication skills
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Able to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Able to operate a forklift (Lakeside certified)
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test

Pay: $18.50 - $22.00 per hour
