Journeyperson Auto Body Technician

Diversified Transportation is currently seeking a full-time Journeyperson Auto Body Technician to join our team in Fort McKay.

Reporting to the Shop Foreman, you will work in a fast-paced environment maintaining a large fleet of motorcoaches. Diversified offers an above-average work environment with an emphasis on safety and training.

Work Shift: Full-time, 7 and 7 shifts (12-hour day shift)

Wage: $51.73 per hour, plus an extra $2.00 per hour if you hold a class 3Q license or higher

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform complete disassembly and reassembly of vehicles for repair per insurance guidelines and shop standards
  • Ability to operate a frame machine and measuring system to straighten frames
  • Hammer out dents, replace and repair body panels, bumpers, structural panels and frame components
  • File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
  • Apply undercoating and corrosion protection materials
  • Repair or replace interior and exterior parts, electrical components and vehicle accessories
  • Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns
  • Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling
  • Repair and replace glass components such as windshields and windows
  • Remove and install welded and sectioned parts to vehicle
  • Work closely with the production team to ensure repair timelines are met
  • Keep maintenance reports and documentation

Education & Skills Required:

  • Journeyperson Certification
  • Red Seal or 310B preferred
  • Welding experience
  • Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of computer technology trends in the service industry, i.e. diagnostic programs and service manuals
  • Ability to develop new solutions and techniques to solve problems related to new and/or different equipment
  • Ability to obtain clearance for the following are required: driving record check (abstract), physical demands analysis, drug & alcohol test, criminal record check
  • Valid class 1, 2Q or 3Q driver’s license is considered an asset
