Jr. Financial Analyst

Position Summary: The Junior Financial Analyst will support the Capital Investments division by assisting in the preparation of financial presentations and reporting, data analysis, and the evaluation of business performance. This role will provide key insights that help the organization make informed financial decisions. The Junior Financial Analyst will collaborate with the Investment Analyst to ensure accuracy in financial data and provide recommendations for performance optimization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:The following overview highlights key responsibilities but is not an exhaustive list. Additional tasks and duties may be assigned as needed to meet organizational requirements.

  • Conduct financial modeling and valuation for distressed debt acquisitions.
  • Assist in due diligence for potential portfolio purchases (credit analysis, cash flow forecasting).
  • Participate in due diligence by preparing documentation and reports for external parties regarding investment performance.
  • Prepare market research reports and provide input on industry trends affecting distressed assets.
  • Support in creating investment memos and initial deal assessments.
  • Assist Investment Analyst with deliverables and analyses.
  • Assist Investment Analyst in preparing monthly and quarterly presentations.
  • Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights for decision-making.
  • Support the forecasting processes by gathering and consolidating data from different teams.
  • Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis to support special projects or business initiatives.
  • Assist in the development of financial models to support long-term strategic planning.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support to the Investment Analyst as needed.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • Exhibits strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with other financial software or tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, Power Query, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of investment principles
  • Basic understanding of current economic affairs
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Prior internship or experience in a finance or accounting role is a plus but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
