Junior Accountant – Restaurant

We are looking for a responsible, detail-oriented, and hardworking Junior Accountant to join our restaurant team on a part-time basis.

The ideal candidate should have at least 1 year of experience in restaurant accounting or a similar accounting role and should be comfortable handling daily cash transactions, maintaining accounting records, posting entries to the General Ledger, and supporting day-to-day bookkeeping activities.

The candidate must have good attention to detail, basic accounting knowledge, and the ability to maintain accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle and maintain daily cash transactions and cash records.
• Verify daily cash collections against sales/POS reports.
• Record and reconcile daily cash receipts and payments.
• Maintain proper documentation for cash expenses and other transactions.
• Perform General Ledger (GL) posting and ensure transactions are recorded under the correct accounts.
• Assist with daily bookkeeping and accounting entries.
• Record sales, purchases, expenses, receipts, and payments accurately.
• Reconcile cash balances with accounting records on a daily basis.
• Assist in bank and cash reconciliation.
• Review restaurant sales and payment records for accuracy.
• Maintain proper supporting documents, invoices, receipts, and vouchers.
• Assist in monitoring accounts payable and receivable, where required.
• Identify discrepancies in cash, sales, or accounting records and report them to the management.
• Assist with month-end accounting and closing activities.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date accounting files and records.
• Support the senior accountant/management with other accounting-related tasks as required.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in accounting, preferably within a restaurant or food & beverage business.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
• Practical experience in daily cash handling and cash reconciliation.
• Knowledge of General Ledger posting and accounting entries.
• Basic understanding of sales, purchases, expenses, receipts, and payments.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel.
• Experience with accounting software such as Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or similar software will be an advantage.
• Good numerical and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to identify and resolve basic accounting discrepancies.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be reliable, responsible, and able to work independently.
• Candidates with previous restaurant accounting experience will be preferred.

Working Hours

6:00 PM to 12:00 AM
Part-Time – 6 hours per day

Pay: ₹8,000.00 - ₹10,000.00 per month
