Are you looking to launch or grow your career in finance and accounting? We are seeking a passionate, eager-to-learn individual to join our finance team as a Junior Accounts Assistant. This entry-level role offers the perfect opportunity to apply accounting knowledge in a real-world setting while developing professional skills in accounts payable, payroll processing, and basic financial operations.
Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, you will receive mentorship and guidance as you learn to handle key financial functions including payment processing, payroll assistance, bank reconciliations, and basic accounting tasks. This role is ideal for accounting graduates, current students in their final years of study, or those with more experience who wish to grow and develop within a supportive and innovative environment.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Accounts Payable: Assist with processing supplier invoices, including basic coding and verification under supervision.
- Payment Processing: Help prepare payment runs for suppliers, learning company policies and procedures
- Accounts Receivable: Support accounts receivable functions and learn about customer billing processes.
- Payroll Assistance: Help with payroll data entry and basic calculations, with guidance from senior team members.
- Bank Reconciliations: Learn to perform basic bank reconciliations and flag discrepancies for review.
- Financial Admin Support: Assist with general financial administration, filing, and data entry.
Our ideal candidate will require:
Education:
- Currently completing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Students in their final years of study are welcome to apply.
- Enrollment in or planning to pursue CA/CPA programme is a plus, but not required
Experience:
- We are open to any level of experience – we provide comprehensive training and will match a salary in line with this
- Internships, volunteer experience, or university projects in accounting are beneficial but not mandatory
Knowledge:
- Basic understanding of accounting principles from university studies.
- Familiarity with concepts of GST and payroll would be advantageous.
Skills:
- Good attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications, especially Excel.
- Strong communication skills and eagerness to ask questions.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
