Junior Associate - Delegate Oversight Risk

Summary:
The Junior Associate – Delegate Risk Oversight will assist the Delegate Risk Oversight team in the management of ongoing and large scale operational risk deliverables within the Waystone Management Company business, covering both AIFM and UCITS Management Company responsibilities. This role will support the Irish team in the management of International Investments for clients of Waystone, and help to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance for these clients.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Helping to maintain an oversight program; overseeing fund administrators, depositaries, distributors and portfolio managers.
  • Working closely with service providers, including fund administrators, and depositaries, collating reports for review and acting as a support for due diligence onsite visits.
  • Communicating with clients, ensuring service excellence and resolving potential issues.
  • Assisting with the implementation of internal and operating controls, especially in relation to UCITS & AIFMD monitoring and reporting.
  • Supporting the business in identifying, assessing, managing and measuring operational risks in accordance with the relevant regulatory policies.
  • Assisting in the development, implementation and monitoring of policies and procedural manuals that contribute to the efficiency of the department, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of client service and regulatory compliance.
  • Keeping abreast of regulatory changes.
  • Becoming a technical expert in UCITS, AIFMD & funds, especially with respect to operational risk management.
  • Liaising and working closely with various internal teams, covering Operations, Compliance, Relationships and Risk to evaluate the operational risks for each client.

What you need:

  • Strong networking skills and adept at building relationships.
  • Ability/experience working in a fast-paced environment with outstanding time management, organizational, oral/written communication skills, critical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Strong MS Office Skills with a focus on Excel.
  • A minimum of a 3rd level Degree in Finance, Business or other similar field is required. A Master’s Degree in a Finance or Mathematical field or a related professional qualification would be desirable but is not a requirement.
