Junior Buyer - Consumables (M/F/D)

The Opportunity:

Avantor is seeking a motivated Junior Buyer to join our dynamic team in Mölndal, Sweden! In this exciting role, you will be responsible for supporting the end-to-end supply chain of consumables and laboratory materials. Your tasks will include managing our online system, placing orders, conducting data analysis, and much more.

This is a full-time, temporary position (18 months) based at our customer site in Mölndal, at AstraZeneca. Along with an attractive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including a bonus, pension scheme, and healthcare allowance. You will also have the opportunity to build a strong network through regular interaction with key stakeholders in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

This is an office-based position, with the option for remote work on Fridays (preferably after the initial training period).

Working hours: Monday to Friday, with flexible start times between 6:00 AM - 9:00 AM and finish times between 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM.


The team


Together with eight colleagues, you are part of a small team, and you belong to our department Lab & Production Services, which supports leading pharmaceutical companies and laboratories all over the world, in Research and Development within the Life Sciences industry.


What
we’re looking for

  • Education: A degree in Supply Chain, Purchasing or related is preferred
  • Experience:
  • Previous experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Logistics within the Pharma/Life-Sciences industry is an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills in both English and Swedish.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Data Management.
  • A social, independent, and team-oriented mindset.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, accountability, and service orientation.
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to be flexible and prioritize tasks effectively.


How you will thrive and create an impact

  • Placing and tracking orders for lab supplies, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with internal requirements.
  • Advising internal customers (such as scientists) on supplies, processes, guidelines, pricing, delivery dates, quality standards, and more.
  • Acting as a single point of contact for both suppliers and internal customers, handling any complaints or returns as needed.
  • Reviewing market offerings to ensure the best selection in terms of price, quality, and delivery time.
  • Negotiating with suppliers on prices, payment terms, and delivery conditions.
  • Serving as a Superuser in our purchasing systems, providing expertise to the team.
