Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Junior Estimator to join our team. This person will be responsible for preparing accurate construction cost estimates, managing procurement, and supporting project execution from preconstruction through completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, take-offs, and budgets.
- Analyze drawings, specs, and bids from subcontractors.
- Manage procurement processes, including trade negotiations and compliance with ethical guidelines.
- Track and assess changes in design or scope and calculate cost/time impacts.
- Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients.
- Monitor project progress and help resolve delays or issues.
- Support contract review, negotiation, and compliance.
- Assist with financial tracking, cost control, and profitability.
- Draft reports such as cost breakdowns, monthly updates, and feasibility studies.
- Help avoid or resolve project disputes.
- Prepare tender documents and analyze bids.
Requirements:
- 1-2 years of experience in construction estimating or quantity surveying.
- Experience working bespoke projects such as high-end residential or similar.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, labor, and methods.
- Experience in managing procurement and contracts.
- Comfortable working with multiple project teams and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Understanding of local and federal procurement and construction laws.
- Experience with high-end or complex construction projects is a plus.
