Job Summary
The Junior EHS Advisor supports the implementation and maintenance of health, safety, and environmental standards on construction sites. Working closely with the EHS Manager, EHS Advisor and site teams, the Junior EHS Advisor assists in conducting site audits, preparing risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with legislation. This role promotes a safety-first culture by delivering toolbox talks, providing guidance on the use of PPE, and supporting the development of site-specific safety plans. The Junior EHS Advisor also assists with incident investigations, maintaining accurate safety records, and identifying opportunities to enhance safety performance across projects.
Key Activities
- Assist with site audits and inspections to ensure both compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and Company Management System Procedures
- Support the preparation and updating of risk assessments and method statements to address potential hazards.
- Deliver toolbox talks and basic HSE training to site personnel and subcontractors under guidance.
- Assist in investigating incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and contribute to corrective action recommendations.
- Monitor the availability and proper use of safety signage, PPE, and emergency procedures on-site.
- Work with the project management team to implement site-specific Construction Health and Safety Plans and ensure ongoing compliance.
- Maintain HSE documentation, including GA Certifications, Statutory Inspections, Permits, incident logs, audit reports and all relevant Sub-contractor documentation to ensure they are up to date and accurate.
- Promote environmental initiatives, such as waste management and spill control, on-site.
- Provide support during regulatory inspections and assist in ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Communicate effectively with site teams to promote awareness of HSE best practices.

- Basic understanding of EHS regulations, risk assessment, and hazard identification.

- Attention to detail and strong organisational skills to maintain accurate safety records.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow within the role while demonstrating a proactive attitude.
- Basic knowledge of environmental management practices and sustainability initiatives.
Education & Experience
- Minimum Level 6 Health and Safety Qualification, or a related field (or equivalent qualifications)
- Prior experience in EHS roles, preferably within the construction industry (internships or entry-level roles acceptable).
- Familiarity with EHS management systems and basic compliance audits is desirable.
- Practical knowledge of construction safety regulations and environmental legislation.
- Interest in developing skills in incident investigation, safety training, and environmental management.
- Commitment to continuous professional development in EHS-related topics, including additional 3rd Level Studies
