Overview:
A fast-paced young Law firm located in Vaughan needs an energetic Family and Real Estate Lawyer to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, research abilities, and expertise in legal drafting. If you are passionate about family law and possess excellent writing skills, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and guidance on family law and real estate matters
- Represent clients in court for divorce, child custody, and other family law cases
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients
- Conduct legal research to support case strategies
- Draft legal documents such as petitions, motions, and agreements
- Maintain client confidentiality and trust throughout the legal process
Must be able to handle files/clients independently.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Called to the Bar with at least one year experience handling Family Law and Real Estate matters
- Proficiency in legal drafting and research
- Familiarity with legal research tools such as Lexis-Nexis
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently, manage large workloads, and keep deadline
Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with the aptitude to learn new software quickly
- Ability to multi-task and take detailed notes
- High level of detail orientation and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional organization/document management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Customer-service attitude, courtesy, and respect for others
