Junior HSQE Advisor: Cork
Please note, there will be travel in this role as the Junior HSQE Advisor will be on site in Whitegate and Ballycotton.

The Role:
This role is for a Junior HSQE Advisor. Working for Glanua is exciting, challenging and incredibly rewarding. As a Junior HSQE Advisor, you will support the implementation of our HSQE System and work closely with our site teams to ensure our projects are delivered safely and ensure risks are appropriately managed on site.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The main duties and responsibilities of the Junior HSQE Advisor are outlined as follows:

Work as part of a team in the safe delivery of our projects, embracing the ethos of a “one team” culture.
Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards, policies, and procedures are always adhered to on-site.
Instil a positive Health and Safety culture within the team in their thinking and actions.
Ensure compliance with current Environmental, Health and Safety legislation and maintain awareness of legislative changes and industry standards.
Provide onsite HSQE presence during construction and operations to ensure HSQE controls, mitigation measures are implemented, maintained and performance monitored
Help senior advisors to develop Site Construction Stage plans, traffic management, waste management, etc. with the project team and monitor their implementation.
Ensure the Company carries out the duties of PD, PC and Contractor.
Ensure all internal and external EHS reporting requirements are complied with.
Monitor and report on the collection, recording, analysis, implementation of actions taken and feedback provided to the hazards identified during the weekly inspection/audits through our online management system
Conduct accident/incident investigations in a timely manner with the support of the project team, making recommendations to management in respect of these.
Obtaining and reviewing safety documentation from Clients, Suppliers and Subcontractors;
Ensuring that subcontractors are made aware of the Company’s Plan and the requirement for project specific safety statements before appointment.
Reviewing, revising and updating the Plan in the light of subcontractors’ information, the progress of work, the receipt of new design information and the occurrence of incidents or accidents.
Implementing the Plan and monitoring the compliance of Company personnel and subcontractors against the Plan
Brings any safety, health or welfare issues to the attention of the Contract Manager, Site Agent/foreman for action prior to leaving site.
Advises site management of the suitability and adequacy of safety and health provisions, safe working methods, safety of equipment and the validity of test certificates.
The Safety Officer will be responsible for the maintenance of all site safety documentation in conjunction with the site team.
Plans and holds safety inductions and briefings of Company and subcontractors’ personnel as detailed in the Safety and Health Plan for each project.
Carrying out Site Inspections and generating reports;
Liaising with external parties relating to HSQE;
Ensure ISO (9001, 45001, 14001) compliance
Assess the training needs of employees, ensure that employees training requirements are identified prior to new projects commencing and bring training requirements to the attention of the HSQE Manager.
Other duties as required from time to time.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
The main knowledge, skills and experience required of the Junior HSQE Advisor are outlined as follows:

Minimum of a Level 7 or higher qualification in Health and Safety.
Minimum of 1- 2 years’ experience working in a similar role, preferably in both construction and pharma/med device would be a distinct advantage
Extensive working knowledge of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and the Safety, Health and Welfare (Construction) Regulations 2013.
Strong and proven ability to influence change and be a champion of best practice
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint), and a general competence in using new technologies (Mobile Apps etc)
Full Driving License.
