As we expand our kitchen team, we're excited to welcome an experienced Part Time Junior Kitchen Assistant to join The Tram Cafe for (12pm-8pm) availability

The Junior Kitchen Assistant is responsible for-

· Portioning meals for clients– making sure food is portioned safely and portion control is being monitored.

· Preparing of sandwiches / veg prep / salads / and all other food preparation efficiently and to the best of your ability.

· Assist with handling and putting deliveries away in correct location.

· Ensuring all daily tasks are being carried out and completed correctly. Completing daily checklists.

· Following direction from your team leaders and supervisors.

· Following strict HACCP guidelines and providing that evidence by recording all procedures on HACCP sheets provided.

· Ensure you check you are rotating old stock and using “use first” foods when portioning. Communicating with supervisors if there are any extra sauces or food extra so they are stored correctly in fridge for the next day or frozen.

· Labels –checking labels for that day is correct. Training on Label Machine will be given to you by manager.

· Making sure fridges and freezers are kept organised and all food is stored in correct location.

· Being aware of colour coding system in the kitchen with aprons, uniforms, knives and chop boards with the advice of the supervisors.

· Ensuring Clients with dietary requirements receive the correct meals and labels are correct.

· Making sure equipment is clean and put in correct location when not being used.

· Working well with others on the team and helping each other to get all tasks completed.

· Following cleaning procedures throughout your shift to ensure the kitchen is safe for cooking portioning food and storing food.

· Adhering to company policies and health & food safety guidelines.

· Presenting yourself in a clean and presentable manner.

· Assisting the chefs to prepare food when required.

· Any other tasks as reasonably requested by the Kitchen Manager.

The Ideal Candidate-

· Must have previous experience in a kitchen assistant role

· Must be available part time/ flexible

· Must have the right to work in Ireland

· Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a bigger team.

· Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining cleanliness and organization
