THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

For this role, we are looking for a hands-on and focused engineering consultant who can uphold EDC’s approach to quality-driven success.

You will have two years’ Building Services Consultancy Design experience and be a competent user of Revit/MEP, Autodesk Applications with BIM experience advantageous.

You will fulfill mechanical design work as required, working to project deadlines. You will assist modellers to produce detailed workign drawings in 4D and scheme drawings as well as developing the project scope with the design team/client.

You will follow EDC's Environmental Management systems including all related environmental policie, procedures and training, and shall perform your duties in a manner that supports the company;s environmental objectives and sustainability commitments.

Thsi role is primarily office based with hybrid working model with the occasional representation at EDC client meetings as required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• 
  Minimum Degree qualification in Mechanical Design Engineering.
• 
  Minimum of two years of Mechanical Building Services Consultancy Design experience.
• 
  Proficient user of the following:
  • 
    Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint etc.)
  • 
    Autodesk Applications (AutoCAD/Design Review/ Revit MEP)
  • Building Information Modelling ( BIM ) experience will be advantageous
  • Commercial sector knowledge / experience a strong advantage
  
  

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• 
  Competent in the design and specification of mechanical building services in a variety of industries and project types, sizes and complexity.
• 
  Experience in delivering detailed designs through a full design cycle.
• 
  Knowledge and experience in the following Mechanical design areas: Water Services, Heating / LTHW, HVAC, Natural Gas systems above ground drainage and BMS.
• 
  Knowledge of MEP, including HVAC and Public Health services design
• 
  Understanding of specific building services design tools, such as IES.
• 
  Knowledge of CIBSE, IEC, BS, IS and EN Standards.
• 
  Commercial sector knowledge/experience is a strong advantage.
• 
  Building Information Modelling (BIM) experience will be advantageous.
• 
  Mechanical building services design knowledge/ experience is a strong advantage.
• 
  Knowledge of communal plant heating systems would be advantageous.
• Project management, problem-solving, presentation, communication and IT skills are essential.
• Team player with the ability to learn from your colleagues.
