Junior Plant Operator

What You Will Do:

• Learn and perform our specialized coil welding process (no previous welding experience required)
• Weld finish cutting, grinding, and polishing
• Active participation in our safety program
• Active participation in our continuous improvement program
• Operation of process lines
• Fill out appropriate paperwork
• Housekeeping duties
• Assist Senior Operators in the maintenance of equipment
• Assist in monthly and quarterly inventory counts
• Operate crane and forklift to unload raw coils from truck trailers/load process line
• Loading of full transport reels and unloading of empty transport reels onto/off of transport trailers
• Other duties as required

Position Details:

• Working at the Edmonton facility primarily, occasionally at Leduc facility.
• Permanent
• Full-time
• Mainly working day shift operations, with overtime as required
• Weekend or night shift may be required dependent on business conditions

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Relevant experience is an asset but not required
• Good oral and written communication skills, including the ability to follow written and oral instructions
• Basic math and analytical skills
• Good organizational and time management skills

Physical Demands

• Pre-employment testing including drug & alcohol, vision, auditory, background check and physical demands assessment required upon hire
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to stand for a minimum of 8 hours/day
