Who We Are Looking For
We are looking to hire dynamic individuals for our recently renovated, modern office in the heart of downtown. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, as well as the ability to influence others and manage difficult conversations. They should also have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, collaborate between departments, and prioritize efficiently to meet deadlines. Enthusiasm for monitoring different markets is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Proactively manage and grow the supplier base by maintaining an up-to-date supplier list and consistently adding new, qualified vendors through ongoing outreach and evaluation.
- Maintain a personal supplier pipeline by conducting daily market research to identify new potential vendors, collect contact information, and proactively initiate contact to assess fit.
- Build and maintain strong, service-oriented relationships with both new and existing suppliers to ensure long-term partnerships and reliable material sourcing.
- Demonstrate a self-motivated, “hunter” mindset to identify high-value supply opportunities, while handling rejection professionally and persistently through outbound calls, emails, and follow-ups.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods to the company’s processing yard by coordinating with suppliers and logistics teams, and resolve any delivery or shipping issues that arise.
- Responsible for account management with a strong focus on driving purchasing volume, improving profit margins, and ensuring all sourced materials consistently meet high-quality standards.
- Manage supplier claims and disputes, negotiating fair settlements while maintaining positive supplier relationships.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company objectives.
- Manage Supplier relationships, ensuring quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with vendors to achieve favorable terms.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to quality, delivery, or service
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Perform daily reviews of purchase requests and the inventory management system, ensuring purchase orders are issued in a timely manner
Experience
- Knowledge dealing with commodity pricing (asset)
- A background in sales or business development is considered a strong asset for success in this role
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, and supply chain operations.
- Demonstrated ability in negotiation and pricing strategies to maximize value.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate across departments.
