Your Challenge

We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Project Manager - Intelligent Transport Systems to join our team in Dublin! Within this role you will be expected to travel countrywide for site visits and meetings and provide the central point of contact within the company for a range of Intelligent Transport Systems and Public Lightings.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Customer liaison and management
  • Co-ordination of project team and activities
  • Progress planning, monitoring, and reporting
  • Financial planning, monitoring, and reporting
  • Management of key project disciplines including QHSSE and risk management
  • Management of subcontractors and key suppliers
  • Development of project team and self.

Key Tasks:

  • Provide the central point of contact within the Company for a range of ITS and Public Lightings.
  • Represent the interests of the Company with the Customer, Project Stakeholders, and other interested parties in order to achieve successful completion of the project and to ensure that the Company’s activities are co-ordinated within the overall project programme.
  • Establish project specific Quality, Safety and Risk Management plans, and ensure that these are followed, and are kept under review during the course of the project.
  • Liaise with other areas of the Company as required, (including Engineering, QHSE, Finance, Legal and Procurement) to ensure that project objectives and requirements are communicated and understood and that sufficient resources are made available at the appropriate time.
  • Liaise with Purchasing, Production, Services, Quality and Health & Safety and other Company’s functions to ensure that project objectives and requirements are communicated and understood and that sufficient resources within the company are made available to achieve successful project completion.
  • Organise and manage the activities of the Company project team throughout all phases of the lifecycle, to ensure that project activities are planned and controlled, and that appropriate records are maintained.
  • Be responsible for progress planning, monitoring, and reporting on the project, and provide Senior Management with progress reports at planned intervals. Promptly report to the Projects and Systems General Manager any significant event that may have a serious effect on the project deliverables.
  • Be responsible for financial planning, monitoring, and reporting on the project including maintenance of the Contract Review Summary and Payment Schedule.
  • Develop personal and professional skills in accordance with the needs of the Company.
  • Provide support to Bidding and Business Development as and when required, through requirements analysis, development of technical proposals and provision of cost and time estimates.
  • Comply with all QHSE Regulation and Procedures for this role
  • To ensure commercial contracts and arrangements are reviewed, risk assessed, in line with company requirements and dealt with in accordance with company process
  • To ensure that all works are only conducted once there is an agreed form of written contract in place between the company and the customer.
  • To ensure that all works, and operations meet company, statutory and contractual requirements from start to completion.

Your Profile

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience managing projects, preferably in a similar environment.
  • Good customer focus
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements, ability to work to deadlines.
  • Good planning and organising skills.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Project.
  • Results driven.
  • Ability to work under own initiative
  • Tenacious, resilient, and good at working to challenging deadlines
  • Ability to motivate others from whom input is required
  • Conceptual thinker, problem solver
  • Driving Licence
  • Flexibility for travel and occasional over-nighting.

Desirable

  • Degree level education
  • Degree level education in an engineering discipline
  • Project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2)
  • Previous experience in the traffic industry or Intelligent Transport Systems industry
