Kelsius is recruiting for the role of Junior to Mid PHP developer for a legacy web application to strengthen its R&D team. You will be responsible for enhancing and maintaining various applications (Client facing and internal web-based applications), to continue to grow our market base. This is an exciting opportunity, if you have an interest in IoT and want to get involved in a rapidly growing industry.

You will work alongside the Product Manager, the R&D team and the Testing team and be responsible for the full development life cycle of the app. Your ability to understand requirements and to convert them to efficient solutions makes you an ideal self-starter candidate. Your ability to work on multiple projects in a very agile environment will set you apart.

Our application is built with core PHP (no full-stack frameworks), so a strong understanding of vanilla PHP and custom architecture is essential and includes:

Main Responsibilities:

• Develop new software features, and maintain existing software: debug and fix issues in an existing PHP codebase
• Make small/medium changes safely in legacy code
• Write and maintain raw SQL queries
• Minor JavaScript for simple UI behaviour

The successful candidate will:

• Have good experience with PHP and MySQL. 1-5 years’ experience.
• Plain PHP fundamentals (comfortable without a framework)
• Strong debugging skills
• Web Fundamentals
• Practical web security knowledge
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
• Demonstrate initiative, be a self-starter, show willingness to learn.
• Have strong organizational skills and demonstrate a good attention to detail.
• Have good interpersonal skills and be a team player.
• Have some experience using Git (Git Basics)
• Have the ability to work in a fast-paced development environment and to commit to deadlines

This is a remote working role with occasional visits to our head office in Gweedore/Falcarragh, Co. Donegal. Candidates must reside in Ireland and have the right to work in Ireland.

Pay: €35,000.00-€40,000.00 per year
