Job Summary: K-8 Media/STEM Teacher

Classroom Teachers at Trinity Christian School play a vital role in the learning experience within our Christian school community. Reporting to the head of school, elementary classroom teachers collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and staff to promote instructional excellence, foster professional and spiritual growth, and advance the school's mission of supporting parents in preparing students to embrace Biblical truth, strive for academic excellence, and model Christ-like leadership that will impact their world for Christ.

Specific Responsibilities:

➢ Model Christ in word and deed.

➢ Write Biblically integrated STEM lesson plans (with an emphasis on Science Olympics first quarter and Science Fair third quarter) for all classes on a weekly basis according to Trinity Christian School guidelines that further our mission and will help students grow spiritually and academically.

➢ Organize and maintain the library and manage book check out and check in for each class.

➢ Establish and maintain communication with parents.

➢Selects, acquires, catalogs, and maintains print materials (books, databases, & multimedia).

➢ Read Trinity Christian School email/staff communications to remain informed and respond if requested to do so. This should be done upon arrival, midday, and before departure.

➢ Be available for student questions, concerns, ministry, and counsel during lunch hours, before school, after school, or in between classes.

➢ Attend Trinity Christian School staff meetings.

➢ Participate in specials team meetings.

➢ Attend/participate in: Meet the Teacher, the Christmas program, Spring performance and other school-wide performances.

➢ Participate in the accreditation process for the school's continuous improvement plan.

➢ Participate in professional development to stay current in their field.

➢ Adhere to specified professional dress

➢ Open and close each school day with prayer with students.

➢ Give specific praise and encouragement.

➢ Decorate classroom bulletin boards seasonally, scripturally, and monthly.

➢ Establish and maintain accurate records for each student.

➢ Prepare conference notes for parent conferences.

➢ Prepare report cards and ongoing grade record keeping in RenWeb.

➢ Integrate school-wide theme scriptures into the classroom to help further the mission of TCS.

➢ Teach through the Biblical Integration method.

➢ Discipline with love.

➢ Observe and assess the ability of each student.

➢ Know the student dress code in order to ensure students comply with the standards.

➢ Compile and maintain an up-to-date subfolder.

➢ Must be able to lift 40 lbs.

➢ Other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:

• Elementary Teacher - Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education or related field
• Secondary Teacher - Bachelor’s Degree (12 Credits in Subject Area desired, but not required)

Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Full-time (40 hours/week); however, will be required to work evening events (student performances, etc).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $42,000.00 per year
