Te Puni Kōkiri is the government's principal policy advisor on Māori wellbeing and development. We achieve strategic influence with a focus on providing high quality policy advice and holding other agencies to account for delivering public services to, for, and with Māori. This includes our mandate to promote Māori achievement in education, training, health and economic resource development along with performing our monitoring and mentoring roles.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced people leader to bring their subject-matter expertise and strong leadership to the position of Manager, Statutory Entities and Monitoring team!
Te whai wāhitanga | The opportunity
The Manager, Statutory Entities and Appointments is responsible for the functional, technical and strategic leadership of the team. You will be responsible for delivery of the Statutory Entities and Appointments work programme which will include:
- Effective performance monitoring of Crown and statutory entities.
- Ensuring the delivery of a robust appointments process.
- Providing free and frank advice to responsible Minister's on the performance of entities and appointments process.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to influence outcomes.
- Leadership of a team of motivated, committed kaimahi and developing their knowledge and skillset.
The appointment range for this role is between $153,574 to $191,967 per annum and the salary will be determined based on the successful candidate's skills and experience.
Mōu | About you
You will have:
- Managerial experience in a medium to large organisation.
- Experience in providing free and frank, evidence-based advice to leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with and influence senior leaders across a range of disciplines.
- Experience identifying, negotiating, managing and evaluating outcome-based contracts with a range of providers including a detailed understanding of risk management and the workings of government in your specialist field.
