This Digital Media & Design programme offers tauira the chance to learn about the construction trade through practical experiences, cultural connections and mātauranga.
We are seeking a Kaiako to deliver the Certificate in Digital Media and Design programme, which involves but is not limited to: developing lesson plans, presenting material to tauira (students), responding to tauira learning needs, and evaluating tauira progress. This is a fixed term (until 19 December 2025) full-time (37.5hrs per week) position, which includes 6hrs per day for face to face class delivery, 3 days a week from 9am – 3pm. This position will be based at our Mangere Campus.
Mōu | About you
You will be someone who has extensive knowledge in key areas such as Graphic Design Fundamentals, Mātauranga Māori Design Philosophy and Tikanga, Online Media Design, and Portfolio Design. This role involves integrating cultural and ethical considerations that honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi, reflecting Te Ao Māori and Pacific perspectives throughout the programme. The Kaiako must possess advanced skills in digital media and a strong understanding of Indigenous pedagogies.
The right candidate will have a passion for supporting tauira success, as well as possess strong communication skills, cultural awareness, and adaptability
Ideally you will:
- Hold a Diploma Level qualification in Digital Media and Design, or related subject, and
- Be able to demonstrate holding or showing equivalence for NZQA standards assessed in this programme
- Hold a Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching (Level 5) or equivalent, or complete this within 12 months of employment
- Have a full and current NZ Driver’s Licence (Class 1)
As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) will be key.
