Kennel Assistant/Receptionist

Responsibilities:
- Provide care and attention to pets in our care
- Feed, walk, and play with pets according to their specific needs
- Administer medications or treatments as instructed by pet owners or veterinarians
- Clean and maintain pet areas, including litter boxes, cages, and outdoor spaces
- Monitor pets for any signs of illness or distress and report any concerns to mangement
- Follow specific instructions provided by pet owners regarding feeding, exercise, and other care requirements
- Provide companionship and socialization for pets to ensure their well-being

Skills:
- Experience working in a kennel or similar animal care environment
- Ability to handle heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., lifting large dogs or bags of pet food)
- Knowledge of animal care practices
- Familiarity with pet care techniques and best practices
- Understanding of pet care principles and techniques
- Proficiency in providing general pet care, including grooming, bathing, and nail trimming
- Ability to handle animals safely and confidently, including proper restraint techniques

Qualifications
- Kennel experience
- Animal handling and restraint skills
- Pet care knowledge
- Dog training experience
- Veterinary background or training
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks
- Customer service skills
- Pet grooming experience is a plus
- Veterinary assistant or technician experience is beneficial

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• Holidays
• Weekends as needed
