Kennel Technician/ Grooming Experience A Plus

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the care and well-being of animals in our facility. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess strong skills in handling and managing various breeds of dogs and other animals. You will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for all pets.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
• Maintain cleanliness in kennels, play areas, and other animal housing facilities.
• Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to lead staff.
• Assist with animal restraint during bathing, examinations or treatments as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their, and their pets' needs.
• Assist with heavy lifting of animals or equipment as required.
• Support pet grooming activities when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in pet sitting, animal care, or as a veterinary assistant is preferred.
• Strong skills in animal handling and dog handling are essential.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and manage physically demanding tasks throughout the day.
• Familiarity with animal restraint techniques is a plus.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare.
• Certification in similar qualifications (above) would be advantageous but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
