Peninsula Preparatory Academy is a PreK - 5th grade charter school that serves a multi ethnic immigrant community. We are seeking talented associate teachers to join our existing faculty team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Providing support to classroom teachers

• Establishing and enforcing rules of behavior for students in the classroom in collaboration with classroom teacher

• Preparing lessons, units and projects to complete learning objectives in all subject areas

• Adapting teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of students

• Encouraging students to explore learning opportunities and career paths

• Creating, assigning and grading various assessments for students, including tests, quizzes, essays and projects

• Working with students one-on-one when they need extra help or attention

• Exercising open and respectful communication with families, co-workers, supervisors, and other school staff

• Utilizing student data daily to drive instruction

• Managing student behavior in accordance with outlined guidelines

Qualifications

• Bachelor / Master’s degree from an accredited university

• NYS Teaching Certification (Birth - 2 or 1 - 6th grade)

• At least 1 year of teaching experience

• Highly developed oral and written communication skills

• Ability to build relationships effectively and professionally with colleagues, families and students

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $46,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
