Kitchen Assistant (Part-Time)

Frindsbury House is a Residential Care Home supporting individuals with Physical and Neurological conditions with a focus on Huntington’s Disease.

We are currently looking for a Kitchen Assistant to work 88 hours per 4 week rota (an average of 2 shifts per week) with shift times from 7.00am - 6.00pm.

This would include working 2 weekends in each 4 week period

Previous experience of a busy kitchen environment preferable.

Previous experience of working in a Care Home environment preferable however not essential as full training and support will be provided.

A kind, caring and compassionate approach is essential together with the ability to communicate and interact well with residents and other staff members.

You will be working as part of a small team whose duties include, but are not limited to;

• Preparing meals for residents & staff to order, ensuring safe and accurate preparation of specialised textured foods where required.
• Providing hot and cold drinks for residents, ensuring individually prescribed consistencies are adhered to.
• Provide catering for social occasions e.g. parties, fetes etc.
• Ensuring an exceptional standard of hygiene is maintained throughout the kitchen at all times.
• Completing regular checks and records. e.g temperature checks, cleaning schedules etc.

An enhanced DBS check (paid for by the employer) and 2 references will also be required once a position has been offered.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £11.44 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 22 per week
