Kitchen Supervisor/Cook
Our company is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Kitchen Supervisor to join our team at Acclaim Hotel/Pacini Restaurant NE location 123 Freeport Blvd NE Calgary. The kitchen supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen in our restaurant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure consistent and smooth running of food production
- Ensure effective stock purchase, its receipt and storage
- Ensure that working areas are always kept clean
- Assist other kitchen staff as need arises including dish team
- Supervise performance of kitchen staff to ensure proper activity
- Perform other administrative tasks as will be communicated by the Chef
- Ensure that required standards are adhered to in the production and preparation of food – in quality, quantity and safety
- Work towards exceeding customer’s expectation by encouraging and promoting high level of service
- Ensure all complaints, inquiries, and suggestions by customers are attended to accordingly
- Ensure staff meals are set up on time, presented well and freshly made
- Give appropriate support or guidance to members of kitchen when need arises
- Resolve possible disputes within the kitchen and report any unresolved to Chef
- Promote good team spirit regularly, build a strong team
- Ensure all dishes are prepared according to specification from Pacini Head Office and served at the correct quality, portion size, and temperature
- Responsible for the preparation of kitchen cleaning rosters and the supervision of cleaning schedules
- Assist the Chef in inventory management and ordering products
- Ensure that the kitchen staff work harmoniously in order to ensure timely production of quality foods
- Ensure proper arrangement and garnishing of food
- Manage food logs and temperature logs
- Monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared and sanitation in kitchen
- Assist the Chef in recruiting, hiring, and training employee cooks
- Report the need for maintenance by filling in the maintenance work order book
- Passion for food: someone who enjoys the process of food preparation and creating menus
- A good sense of business; to be efficient and cost-effective in terms of labor management in absence of the Chef
- Ability to cope under stressful conditions and work effectively as part of a team
- Strong leadership skills and ability to make quick decisions in absence of the Chef
- Strong attention to details: adherence to specific ingredients and measurement needed for various menus
- Possess strong management and organizational skills
- Be creative; always willing to try something new
- Ability to handle/accept criticisms from customer.
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
Must possess:
- Passion for food, enjoys the process of food preparation and creating menus
- Good sense of business ; efficiency and cost effectiveness in terms of labour management in the absence of the Chef
- Able to cope under stressful conditions and work effectively as part of a team
- Strong leadership skills and an ability to make quick decisions in the Chef' absence
- Particular attention to details: adherence to specific ingredients and measurements needed for various menus
- Very strong management and organizational skills
- Be creative; always willing to try new things
- Ability to handle criticism from customers
- Be an excellent team player
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
