Kosher Food Service and Meal Program Coordinator

What to be excited for in this role:

  • Ensuring compliance with strict health and safety standards

  • Implementing service standards and improve productivity
  • Supporting the preparation, cooking, and plating of all meals in a timely manner
  • Supporting and directing kitchen staff including performing prep work and dishwashing
  • Providing support and leadership to head chef and all facility staff
  • Product ordering and receiving deliveries in accordance to volume of expected production
  • Compiling and executing cleaning duties and prep lists
  • Writing and executing a cohesive menu in partnership with the head chef
  • Participating and contributing to meetings with the F&B team to improve operations, promotions and identify where to cut waste
  • Preparing and executing catering contracts
  • Packing and production of the Meals on Wheels program

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in hospitality and/ or event planning
  • Knowledge of Kosher practices and willingness to learn Jewish customs
  • The ability to work well independently on several projects concurrently, and possess excellent communication, organizational and creative thinking skills
  • Focus on maximizing revenue consistent with providing value and exceptional service
  • Software proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, is required; knowledge and experience in social media platforms is an asset
  • Strong initiative and hospitality orientation; Project Management, organizational and prioritizing skills; problem solving and detail oriented
  • Demonstrate flexibility, pleasant persona coupled with sound judgment, discreet and able to maintain confidential information
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be available for early morning start times
  • Supervise the food service operations, including food preparation and service.
  • Uphold open communication with the Executive Director and other staff, as required
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently solve customer concerns with the utmost professionalism
  • Understanding of food safety standards, along with relevant certifications
  • Valid driver’s license is and asset

  • This is a full-time, weekday position. The successful candidate should expect to work 32-40 hours/ week. Occasional evenings and weekends for onsite and client requested events.

Competitive compensation & employee benefits plan option after 3 months

Pay: $16-$18/ hr, annual bonus

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $16.00-$18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
