Kyoto Katsugyu is North America’s first authentic Japanese Gyukatsu (Beef Cutlet) specialty restaurant, proudly serving downtown Toronto for over 6 years.
We are committed to delivering Japanese food culture and hospitality, and we are looking for long-term team members who are eager to grow with our brand.

Open Positions1. Restaurant Manager (1–2 positions)

Salary:
CAD $5,000–$7,000 / month
(Base salary + tips + performance bonus)
Bilingual candidates (English & Japanese) are eligible for higher starting pay.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of management experience in the restaurant industry

(Japanese cuisine or chain restaurant experience is an asset)

  • Strong understanding of both front-of-house and kitchen operations
  • Proven team leadership, accountability, and execution skills
  • Strong English communication skills (Japanese language ability is an asset)
  • Appreciation for Japanese food culture and hospitality standards
  • Looking for long-term employment and career growth

2. Front-of-House Staff (Full-Time, 3 positions)

Hours: 35–43 hours per week
Wage: CAD $17.60/hr + tips (approx. $10–$15/hr) + statutory holiday pay
Bilingual candidates (English & Japanese) are eligible for higher starting pay.

Requirements:

  • Good English communication skills (Japanese language ability is an asset)
  • Previous customer service experience preferred
  • Strong customer-focused mindset and professionalism
  • Team-oriented, reliable, and responsible
  • Ability to work flexible shifts (including weekends and holidays)
  • Available for long-term, stable employment

3. Kitchen Staff (Full-Time, 2 positions)

Wage: CAD $17.60/hr + tips (approx. $8–$10/hr)
Base hourly wage may be increased for candidates fluent in both English and Japanese.

Requirements:

  • Previous kitchen experience required
  • Experience with frying, food prep, and cooking is an asset
  • Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and quality standards
  • Strong teamwork and work ethic
  • Basic conversational English required (Japanese language ability is an asset)
  • Able to work full-time with long-term commitment
