Millennium Physician Group is seeking to hire a full-time Lab Phlebotomist to join the Lab team. We are looking for a new team member who is positive, energetic, well-organized, has the ability to multi-task, and think outside of the box. We want someone who supports our top initiative of ensuring an excellent patient experience!

As a Lab Phlebotomist you will be directly involved in the care for our patients. You will be expected to provide "painless" phlebotomy procedures utilizing universal precautions and safe work practices, process specimens and demonstrate proper handling of samples, instruct patients on Coumadin and perform limited waived testing (Protimes). You will also need to maintain sample integrity by positive identification and labeling (2 identifiers), maintain work area, supplies and cleanliness, provide excellent bedside manner with patients.

Required Knowledge and Experience

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills and Abilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong computer skills and knowledge of EMR systems; Athena knowledge preferred but not required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb and balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
